Terry Moore began working with IBM mainframe computers in 1967. He is currently a Senior Information Systems Technical Specialist at The Timken Company where he has been a part of the Corporate Information Systems department for 30 years. He has expertise in both mainframe and PC environments, and is currently a member of the Global Infra- structure Systems group within Timken's eBusiness Center.
In the 1980's he developed world-wide electronic mail (e-mail) facilities with calendar and meeting scheduling facilities used by Timken associates world-wide. Later he led the effort to migrate from these CMS systems to PC applications based on Microsoft Outlook. Terry was instrumental in architecting a user-customizable menu system for Timken associates allowing them to build personal menus for their mainframe sessions by choosing from hundreds of available applications, and architected development tools to aid in the development of VM/CMS applications that emulate the look and feel of windowed applications. Terry was involved in expanding Timken's e-mail system to include customers and suppliers by adding internet features, implemented the first web server at Timken, introduced Listserv(tm) mailing list services at Timken, and developed Timken's IT Standards, Email and Calendaring web sites. He has authored numerous user guides and training courses for Timken associates. He is currently involved in consolidating data center services from Duston and Colmar into the Canton data center.
Terry has served continuously on of the board of directors of the Midwest VM Regional User's Group since it was founded in 1985 and serving as secretary, vice-president and president of the group. The users group include members from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky and sponsors full day seminars three times each year in cities around the five-state area.
