MVMRUG April 24, 1998 Meeting

Our SPRING 1998 MVMRUG MEETING, was held in Columbus,Ohio. Our meeting began at 9:00 AM and if you came early, you had the opportunity to enjoy our free continental breakfast and become acquainted with our members.

Location: Wyndham Dublin Hotel, Columbus, Ohio

The Wyndham Dublin Hotel is located at 600 Metro Place, North Dublin, Ohio near I270 and State Route 33.

Thursday Night Dinner & Social

Imagine yourself in an old historic inn with white walls, large wood beams, and a big stone fireplace. This was the setting for our Thursday night dinner and social where we had our own private dining room with some of the best tasting prime rib, shrimp, steak and salmon. There was something on the menu for everyone and we all enjoyed the food immensely. The Inn is called the James Tavern and is definitely worth visiting the next time you are in the Columbus (Worthington) area.

Agenda:

Our featured IBM speaker, Reed Mullen, presented an update on VM/ESA 2.3. As the lead Product Planner for VM/ESA, he is well respected in his field and has spoke at various seminars as well as providing advice and guidance in the development of the Redbook "VM/ESA OpenEdition Guide".

Also planned were TCP/IP and OV/VM performance and tuning sessions and how to make your VM O/V System even more cost effective plus a discussion about how to migrate from VM based mail to a Microsoft Exchange Server.

Here is a brief description of our finalized agenda.
