SFS Security

John Hall - Safe Software

Even if you knew nothing about the shared file system, you would have found this an easy-to-understand presentation about SFS security. John Hall took us through a brief introduction to SFS and native SFS security mechanisms; then he described how an external security manager (shared file system's equivalent of ACF2, RACF, or VMSECURE). such as SafeSFS, can take advantage of the SFS exits provided by IBM to improve upon the function and managability of SFS security.

It is worth noting that SafeSFS provides nine levels of security, works in conjunction with ACI groups, and implements a new concept known as co-owner.
