Abstract
There have been many significant Linux related announce-
ments over the last few months. From Linux distribution
partners, Red Hat, SuSE and Turbolinux, and support
offerings to IBM and ISV software that have been
announced and delivered. Things are changing fast as
IBM expands its commitment to support Linux. This
session will provide an overview of Linux on zSeries
and products (IBM and ISV) and services available.

1:30 p.m. Getting Your Web Pages Off the Couch

Abstract
This session will discuss methods of adding activity
your VM-based web site. Web Technologies such as
JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and Dynamic
HTML (DHTML) will be demonstrated as well as how to
use those tools to move some of the processing off of
the mainframe web server and onto the workstation.
Tips and techniques in building your active web pages
will also be shared.

Abstract
Since summer 1999, Abbott has planned a consolidation
of the Chicago and Columbus based VM. Detail planning
began early 2000 and in April, 2001 a decision was made
to consolidate in Columbus. This discussion will
review the directions the Consolidation Team took,
what has been learned and the progress they are making
as the effort is brought to a close in November, 2001.
